Campervan Sound Deadening & Thermal Insulation Kit
A practical 2-layer insulation and sound-deadening kit designed for campervan conversions, vans and motorhomes. The kit combines PeaceMAT™ XR 2mm butyl sound-deadening sheets with 15mm adhesive closed-cell foam, helping create a quieter and more comfortable vehicle interior.
PeaceMAT XR is installed first, directly onto the vehicle's metal panels, where its high-mass butyl construction helps control vibration, resonance, rattles and road noise. The 20mm closed-cell foam is then installed as the second layer, providing additional thermal and acoustic insulation. This follows the same basic layered approach recommended in your existing installation guidance.

How to install
1. Prepare the surface
Remove interior panels and clean the metal thoroughly. The surface should be clean, dry and free from grease, dust and loose material.
2. Install PeaceMAT XR
Cut the 2mm PeaceMAT XR sheets where required, remove the backing and apply directly to the bare metal. Press firmly into the panel and ideally use a sound-deadening roller to eliminate air pockets.
3. Concentrate on vibration-prone areas
Apply to large flat panels, doors, wheel arches, roof sections and other areas that resonate. Your existing guidance recommends approximately 60–80% coverage on walls and doors, with heavier coverage where greater noise control is required. Car Insulation UK
4. Install the 15mm closed-cell foam
Measure and cut the foam to shape. Peel away the brown release paper and apply the adhesive foam over the required areas.
5. Refit the interior
Once the insulation is securely fitted, reinstall your battens, wall panels, carpeting or other interior finish as required.
Closed-cell foam is particularly useful in vehicle conversions because it is moisture resistant and suitable for thermal and acoustic insulation.
