Car Insulation UK's aim is to provide you with the best acoustic and thermal vehicle insulation products & expertise in car soundproofing, sound deadening & insulation.

Here we hope you will find most of your car sound insulation questions answered, such as "Which car sound insulation?", "Should I use sound deadening or insulation", "Which car soundproofing should I use and where?" "How many layers of car soundproofing should I fit?" and "what is the best car insulation?"

When choosing car sound insulation it is important to select the best car sound insulation material for the car insulation application.  Below you will find an array of car sound insulation applications and suggestions of high performance, high quality car soundproofing materials best suited to those car insulation applications.

Which car boot sound insulation and car boot sound deadening should I use?

When insulating your car boot to a high standard it is essential that you insulate the following areas:

1. Dampen the panels in your boot using PeaceMat XR, PeaceMat XS or PeaceMat MR:

(one pack spread evenly around the floor
pan and metal wheel arches is usually more
than enough to deaden the panels and reduce sound pressure)

2. Then it is usually a great idea to add boot soundproofing material such as HydroWELD or ABsoft:

(100% coverage under the load floor if applicable)

3. Add a high quality MLV car sound barrier layer such as PeaceMAT L or PeaceMAT XL:

4. For even further enhanced improvements you can opt for our laminate sound deadening products such as PeaceMAT X (our lightweight option) PeaceMAT XX or PeaceMAT XXX (our high performance option):

By choosing these car sound insulation materials or similar products you should achieve a dramatic sound reduction in your car boot.

Which rear wheel arch soundproofing should I use in my car?

1. When insulating the rear wheel arches in your car a constrained layer dampening system is ideal to first first and foremost. We recommend PeaceMat XR, PeaceMat XS or PeaceMat MR:

2. Once the constrained layer sound deadening has been fitted one of our Closed Cell Sound Deadening Foam can be bonded directly over the top.

Once the wheel arch closed cell foam sound deadening foam has been applied onto the constrained layer dampening you can add a wheel arch soundproofing material to the wheel arch trim panels as well as the tailgate panels.

3. To enhance the overall performance there is also the option to add a hydrophobic soundproofing product such as HydroWELD (also found in the above link) to the outer wheel arch covers.

Which car floor sound deadening material should I use within my car interior?

1. Reduce noise transmission through your car floor pan using one of our laminate floor sound deadening materials such as PeaceMAT X,PeaceMAT XX, orPeaceMAT XXX alternatively you can use one of our coloured insulated checker plate floor covering (floorflex V) all of which can be found in on the button link below:

Which car door sound insulation material should I use in my car doors?

1. Refine your car doors from both the interior & exterior using a combination of two premium car door soundproofing products from Car Insulation UK. We recommend PeaceMAT XR, PeaceMAT XS, PeaceMAT MR and HydroWELD:

Add PeaceMAT XR or PeaceMAT XS onto the outer door skin (at least 20% coverage).  Then apply the HydroWELD to both the outer skin (on top of the PeaceMAT) and the inner door card.

Which car roof insulation material should I use?

1. On the roof it is important to increase mass to the unsupported sections of the metal roof panels.  You can use either PeaceMAT XR, PeaceMAT MR or PeaceMAT XS to achieve this.

2. Once around 25-40% of the roof has been covered (fitted towards the most unsupported sections of the roof), you can fit a roof soundproofing material such as ABsoft or HydroWELD.  HydroWELD offers the most compression making it easier to compress into the tighter areas between the headliner and the metal roof panels.

Alternatively if you have a consistent roof cavity you can fit the 6mm closed cell foam insulation and then apply the HydroWELD to the back of the headliner.  This will offer incredibly acoustic and thermal performance from the roof of your vehicle.
